What are botnets? Botnet (Bots network) is a network of computers controlled and controlled by another remote computer for the purpose of performing a certain task. In addition, Botnet is also understood as a collection of software robots or robots that operate autonomously.

When talking about Botnet, people will think of more negative things. Because it is often used by cybercriminals to attack certain online services or websites. With the ability to carry other malicious code, Botnet not only harms others but also the owner’s computer/phone.

Therefore, Botnet is also simply understood as a computer network in which computers are infected with Malware or installed with software created by cyber criminals.

What is the structure of Botnet?
In addition to what a Botnet is, the structure of a Botnet is also something you should know. Accordingly, the structure of a Botnet is usually in one of two forms: Peer to Peer model or client – server Client – Server.

With this model, new Botnets are connected together in a peer-to-peer structure to overcome the disadvantages of relying on a centralized server. In the Peer to Peer model, each device operates independently as a Client and Server, coordinating with each other to update and transmit information back and forth. The Peer to Peer Botnet structure does not have a single centralized control point, so it is very powerful.

Most Botnets today use a completely Peer to Peer peer-to-peer model. Instead of having to use a server, the commands and execution are implemented entirely within the Botnet, so there is no single point of weakness. In the Client – Server method, if the criminal’s Server is knocked down, the attack will stop, but in Peer to Peer, if 1 Server is destroyed, the remaining Servers will continue their work.

What are botnets commonly used for?
What is a botnet and what is it used for? It is most commonly used to create distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. Specifically, when infected with a Botnet, computers will continuously request access to certain websites, causing the server to be overloaded and unable to accommodate the access of those who truly need it. Attacks can cost companies from a few hundred to millions of dollars depending on the size and type of website.

Nguy hiểm hơn cả là người ta không biết trong Camera bị cài Botnet. Nó không chỉ dùng để tấn công nhiều Website khác mà còn khiến đường truyền bị chậm một cách rõ rệt.
